The new power one of the highest-capacity lines in the connects the Werner West Substation near New Londobn to the Gardner Park Substation adjacent to the Weston Power Plantnear Wausau. The line also passee through a new substation locate along Highway 22 north of Construction work is continuing in Shawano County between the Highwayu 22 and the White Clay substationsw in the townof Washington. That segmentf is the last portion ofthe Morgan-Wernert West line and is schedulefd for an on-time completionh later this year.
Previously this year, a new 138-kilovolt line was energizedr from Werner West to theBadger Substation, located adjacentt to the Highway 22 The two new lines are needed to more fullty support a new generator at the Westomn Power Plant that went into service last year and to relievr congestion on lines in and around the Green Bay and Fox Valle areas. The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin authorizesd the projects at a combined costof $263 million, withimn a 10-percent window.
