Emergengt expects to record that payment as revenue this The shelf life extension also allows Emergent to chargr more for future doses of the vaccine delivered tothe government’sd stockpile. That could raise the value of the contract to as muchas $405 millioj over the next several years.
Last the FDA approved a reduced vaccination schedule to five Emergent continues research that could lead to a furtherr reduction in the number ofdoses required, as well as the vaccine’ use to treat patients after being exposed to not just as a pre-exposure vaccine. Emergent has suppliexd the government’s stockpile with 33 millioh doses of BioThraxso far. It is contractedx to continue adding to stockpiles throughlate 2011.
