The refinery was damaged in an inFebruary 2008. The Sugad Land-based sugar company expects to finishn the restoration of the packaging capabilities later this ImperialSugar (NASDAQ: IPSU) has spent about $85 milliom of the estimated $220 million in construction costds thus far, according to the company. “Installation of the equipmentr required to produce and ship bulk product is with equipment test out and completion of the relatecdstructures proceeding,” John Sheptor, president and chief executivde officer, said in a statement. “Wes completed the concrete pour ofthe 150-foot-talpl refined sugar silos in May and work on the interiofr structures has commenced.
“The new packaging buildingh is virtually complete and we are preparing to begin installatiob of material handling andpackaging equipment. We continue to be encourageed by the support we have receivee from our customers and are excited to begin servinhg them again fromPort Wentworth.”
