Sweet, 38, comes to Vanderbilt from , where he was dean of administratiob and finance ofthe school’s Faculty of Arts and which encompasses Harvard College, the Graduate Schookl of Arts and the School of Engineering and Applie d Science and the Division of Continuinf Education. Prior to he was executive vice president of finance and administratio n and chief financial officer at and was responsible forthe college’ s finances, capital markets management, information human resources, facilities, research administration, business operations and investmenty management.
Sweet also was a principal with and spent five yeares as a nuclear submarine officetr in the Navy before earning his master of businesw administrationfrom Harvard. Sweett succeeds Lauren Brisky, who retired from Vanderbilt in The appointment is expected to be approved by the Vanderbiltf Boardof Trust, and will be effectivde in late August.
